Intellectual Disabilities Society values community and promotes understanding and acceptance through participation in community life. Requirements to get involved in volunteerism with Intellectual Disabilities Society:
Practicum students:
- Practicum placement request must be submitted to careers@idsbc.org along with resume and cover letter.
- Complete an interview and screening process.
- Meet all the stakeholder requirements (CRC, First Aid, Clear TB result, 2x C-19 vaccination, medical, satisfactory reference check).
- Complete all relevant documentation, orientation as required by IDS and institution.
Volunteers:
- Must be 19 years or older.
- Complete the volunteer registration form and submit resume to careers@idsbc.org
- Apply for the advertised volunteer role or be a member of the society in good standing with a nomination from the board chair.
- Complete an interview and/or board screening.
- Meet all the stakeholder requirements (CRC, First Aid, Clear TB result, 2x C-19 vaccination, medical, satisfactory reference check).
- Complete all relevant documentation, orientation as required.
