COMMUNITY-BASED PROGRAMS:

Life Skills

Life Skills supports individuals who live independently or with caregivers. The program helps people learn or strengthen practical skills that increase self‑sufficiency. For example, participants work on banking, budgeting, grocery shopping, meal preparation, community safety, and basic home maintenance. Step by step, individuals gain confidence and build routines that support independent living.

Employment Services

Employment Services is a community‑based program for individuals who face barriers to finding meaningful and competitive employment. We help participants identify their strengths, interests, and vocational goals. From there, our team provides tools to prepare them for real job opportunities.

Our Employment Specialists offer on‑site coaching and ongoing support to promote long‑term success. Because of this consistent guidance, participants stay motivated and build the skills needed to thrive in their workplaces.

Muffin Café

The Muffin Café offers healthy food and beverage options for visitors at the Harry Jerome Recreation Centre and the wider community. This community‑integration program supports individuals who want to develop food‑service skills or gain experience running a small business. Participants help with every part of operations, including food prep, customer service, and sales.

Visit the Muffin Café at 123 East 23rd St, North Vancouver, anytime from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm for coffee, muffins, and daily lunch specials.
